We regularly receive inquiries about which charger is the right one for lithium batteries, which charging booster should be used, what to look out for in the inverter or how thick the cables should be. In the following text, we briefly explain what to look out for when buying accessories and which devices are suitable.

Inverter for LiFepo4 lithium batteries
An inverter is an electrical device that converts direct voltage into alternating voltage. In other words, you can use normal household appliances with a Schuko plug and 230V AC voltage.
The number of watts indicates the maximum amount of current that can be drawn from the inverter and ultimately from the battery. For example, a hairdryer has 1800 watts, a vacuum cleaner 900 watts, a kettle 1000 watts, a coffee machine 800 to 1200 watts or a double hob 2500 watts.
A constant 2000 watts can be drawn from one of our lithium batteries (equivalent to 160A). For shorter periods, up to 4000 watts (320A) can be drawn.
If you connect two batteries in parallel, the possible current draw doubles to 320A constant and 640A short-term.
Which inverter you need for yourself is individual and ultimately depends on your appliances and whether you use them at the same time. For most users, 2000-3000 watts is sufficient.

Suitable chargers for our lithium batteries
LiFePO4 batteries can be charged with most conventional chargers. However, we recommend chargers with a special lithium charging curve. The ampere figure here indicates how “fast” the battery is charged.
A charger with 20A will fully charge an empty 100Ah lithium battery in 5h, a 50A charger in 2h. Our batteries can be charged with up to 100A.

Charge controllers / charge boosters / B2B chargers
A charging booster is required to ensure that the alternator fully charges the on-board battery as well as the starter battery. This mainly applies to EURO6 or younger vehicles.
Euro 6 vehicles generally only charge the on-board battery until the starter battery is full. The alternators in older vehicles, on the other hand, continue to generate energy even when the starter battery is full.
Here too, as with the chargers above, the amperage indicates the current strength, or more simply, how “fast” the battery is charged.
The right cables for the LiFePO4 battery
We often get the question about the required cable thickness. This depends on how long the cables are and how much current they plan to draw. For higher currents or longer cables, we recommend at least a 25 mm² cable.
