Connecting our Supervolt batteries to the Victron network is very simple.
Via a direct interface from the BMS of the Supervolt batteriesthe data can be transmitted to the Victron Cerbo GX in real time. This eliminates the need for an intermediate measuring shunt.
In this article, we explain step by step how exactly you can integrate our Supervolt batteries into the Victron network and which devices you need for this.

What is needed?
The following items are required to connect your Supervolt battery to the Victron network:
- Victron Cerbo GX
- Victron Cerbo GX Touch
- Supervolt battery – new generation with 3 ports
- Supervolt VE.CAN BUS cable
- LAN cable– only when connecting several Supervolt batteries
1. connect terminating resistor
A terminating resistor is used in both the Cerbo GX and the Supervolt battery.
The Cerbo GX terminating resistor supplied is plugged into the interface provided.
The terminating resistor is also included with the Supervolt battery and belongs in interface 3.
2. connect Victron Cerbo GX Touch
The Cerbo GX Touch is a touchscreen display used to monitor and control Victron devices by providing an intuitive user interface to make system information and settings easily accessible.
The screen is connected directly to the Cerbo GX via an HDMI cable that is already connected. A short USB cable, which runs from the HDMI end, is connected directly next to the HDMI input of the device.
3. connect Cerbo GX to battery
The Cerbo GX and the Supervolt battery are connected using our VE.CAN BUS cable – a standard LAN cable will not work!
The cable has one end labeled“To Battery” and one end labeled“To Inverter“.
The“To Inverter” connection goes into the Cerbo GX, directly next to the already connected terminating resistor.
As the name suggests, the other connection belongs to the battery – in port 2.
4. connect Cerbo GX to the power supply
The Cerbo GX can be connected directly to the battery with the enclosed power cable using ring terminals. The cable has an integrated fuse.
5. select CAN bus profile
If you have done everything correctly, the LEDs on the Cerbo GX should light up after a short time.
If a screen is connected, it does not take long for it to light up and display the main menu.
Before the Supervolt battery can transmit the BMS data to the Cerbo GX, the correct transmission protocol must be selected. You can set this either via a connected screen or directly via the VictronConnect app.
On the Cerbo GX Touch, the CAN bus profile can be selected somewhat hidden in the settings.
You have to tap your way through the settings as follows:
Menu ⇨ Settings ⇨ Services ⇨ VE.Can port ⇨ Can bus profile
Once you have reached the selection of the Can bus profiles, you must select the profile “CAN bus BMS (500 Kbit/s)” profile. must be selected.
Once you have selected the CAN bus profile, the charge level of your Supervolt battery is displayed on the start screen.
In addition, much more information can be seen directly from the battery’s BMS in the settings. Among them:
- Battery temperature
- Current flow
- Tension
- Cell voltages
- and much more.
6. connecting several batteries
Have you connected several Supervolt batteries in parallel? That’s not a problem.
The batteries can be connected to each other using a normal LAN cable. If you want to connect several batteries together, you should connect the batteries as shown in the diagram:
As already mentioned, a standard LAN cable (light blue in the diagram) is sufficient to connect the batteries to each other.
To connect the first battery to the Victron Cerbo GX (dark blue on the diagram), our Can-BUS BMS cable must be used.
This is what the whole thing looks like with two batteries:
The Cerbo GX recognizes all connected batteries and automatically displays the total capacity of all batteries.
